Manhattan Goods Co.

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Manhattan Goods Co. collects when you visit this website or buy from us, why we collect it, who we share it with and what choices you have. It is short on collection and long on detail.

Who we are

Manhattan Goods Co. (“we”, “us”) runs the online store at manhattangoods.store. We decide what personal information we collect and why, which makes us the business responsible for it under US privacy laws. Our address is 30 N Gould Street, Suite N, Sheridan, WY 82801. You can reach us about anything in this policy at manhattangoodsco@gmail.com.

Information we collect

What you give us

When you place an order we collect your name, delivery address, billing address, email address and the contents of the order. If you write to us through the contact form or by email, we collect your name, email address, any order number you give us and what you tell us. If you return a piece, we collect the details of the return and your refund.

Payment information

Your card number, expiry date and card code are typed into a secure payment form supplied by our payment gateway and are sent from your browser to the gateway. They do not pass through our servers and we do not store them. We receive the result of the payment, the card brand, the last four digits of the card number and the billing address you entered, so that we can match the payment to the order, issue a refund if needed and screen for fraud.

Collected automatically

Like most websites, our servers record your IP address, the type of browser and device you use, the pages you view, the date and time of each request and the page that referred you. We use cookies that keep your cart and checkout working (see below).

From other sources

Shipping carriers tell us the delivery status of your parcel, and our payment gateway tells us whether a payment was approved and whether it passed its fraud checks.

What we do not collect

We do not ask for government identifiers, health information, biometric data, precise location or the content of your messages with anyone but us.

How we use it

  • To take and fill your order: charge your card, pack and ship the parcel, and send an order confirmation and shipping updates.
  • To answer you: replying to messages, handling returns, refunds and warranty claims.
  • To keep the store safe: preventing fraud and unauthorized payments, securing the site, and fixing faults.
  • To meet legal duties: keeping tax and accounting records and answering lawful requests from authorities.
  • To improve the store from aggregated, non-identifying information such as which pages are visited most.

We do not send marketing email. If we ever start a newsletter, we will ask for your consent first and every message will carry an unsubscribe link.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with the people who help us run the store, and only what they need for their part of the job:

  • Our payment gateway and card networks, to authorize and settle your payment and to screen for fraud.
  • Shipping carriers (USPS, UPS and FedEx), who receive your name, delivery address and email address so they can deliver and notify you.
  • Hosting and infrastructure suppliers, who store the site and its records on our behalf and may not use them for their own purposes.
  • Professional advisers, such as accountants and lawyers, under a duty of confidentiality.
  • Authorities, when a law, court order or valid request requires us to, or to protect our rights, customers or the public from fraud or harm.
  • A successor business, if we are ever sold or merged, in which case this policy will continue to apply to the information transferred.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising. We have not sold or shared personal information in the past twelve months.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored in your browser. We use only the cookies the store needs to work. We do not use analytics, advertising or social-media tracking cookies. The cookies the store sets are:

  • woocommerce_cart_hash and woocommerce_items_in_cart keep the contents of your cart and update the cart count. They last until you close your browser.
  • wp_woocommerce_session_* keeps your cart and checkout details together while you shop. It lasts 2 days.
  • A record of your cookie-notice choice remembers that you have seen the notice, so it does not appear on every page. It lasts up to 12 months.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the cookies that hold your cart, you will not be able to check out.

How long we keep it

We keep order and payment records for seven years, because US tax and accounting rules require it. We keep messages and support correspondence for two years after the matter is closed. Server logs are kept for up to ninety days. When a retention period ends we delete the information or remove anything that identifies you.

Security

The whole site is served over HTTPS. Payment details are handled by the payment gateway and never stored by us. Access to order records is limited to the people who need it to fill and support orders, and our suppliers are bound to protect what they hold for us. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot promise that information will never be intercepted or misused. If a breach affects your information, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it or to give you a copy. Email manhattangoodsco@gmail.com from the address you used to order, with your order number if you have one, so that we can check it is you. We reply within 45 days. Where the law requires us to keep something, such as a tax record, we will tell you what we have kept and why.

State privacy rights

If you live in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Virginia or another state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose, to access and correct it, to delete it, to opt out of its sale, of its sharing for targeted advertising and of profiling, and not to be treated differently for using these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those laws define the terms, and we do not use it for profiling that has legal or similarly significant effects, so there is nothing to opt out of.

To use a right, email manhattangoodsco@gmail.com. You may appoint an authorized agent to make a request for you; we will ask for written proof of the appointment. We respond within 45 days and may extend that once by 45 more days if we tell you why. If we decline a request, you may appeal by replying to our message with the word “Appeal”, and we will answer within 60 days. If you are still unhappy, you can contact your state attorney general.

Under California Civil Code section 1798.83 you may ask for a list of the categories of personal information we have disclosed to third parties for their direct marketing. We make no such disclosures.

Minors

The store is not directed to anyone under 16 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. A purchase must be made by an adult. If you believe a minor has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the store changes or as the law changes. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed. If a change is material we will say so on the site, and we will not use information we have already collected in a materially different way without telling you first. This version is effective October 29, 2026.
