Where the Everyday Briefcase keeps a firm line, this one gives a little: a soft-sided case in midnight leather that folds flat in a cabin bag and opens wide enough to find a charger by sight. It trades structure for weight and still keeps the laptop well protected.
Full-grain leather, 1.2 mm, with a padded laptop pocket and a second unpadded document pocket, each with its own zip. The handles are rolled and stitched, and a detachable strap clips to nickel swivel hooks. Inside the lid sits a zip pocket and a pen slot, and the interior lining is slate gray cotton twill.
A good second bag for people who travel: it slides into a larger case, holds a 15 in laptop and papers, and comes out again looking composed.
Care. Wipe the leather with a dry or barely damp cloth and buff the nickel hardware with a soft cloth. Condition the leather with a neutral balm twice a year and store the piece out of direct sun.
